Small screen cruises

Cruises have been a favorite theme of big and small screen scripts. From the "Ship of Love" to Greek television series, famous cruise ships hosted the protagonists and the adventures of the heroes on their decks.

The Ship of Love

"Ship of Love" began airing in May 1977 with the last episode airing in February 1987, shortly before the series officially closed a decade ago. The case concerned the passengers of the cruise ship who traveled to different places each time looking for rest, relaxation, flirting and fun. Each episode was independent. A lot happened between the passengers, but the first reason was the love with the crew to do everything in their power to make the romance go smoothly. Each episode eventually had its own pill ed.

The series was produced by Aaron Spelling and most of the shooting took place on the cruise ship Pacific Princess. Island Princess, Stella Solaris and Royal Princess were also used. In fact, the shooting of the episode that took place in Greece took place at Stella Solaris.

The series was based on the book by Geraldine Saunders where she described her experiences from the cruise ship on which she worked. Many famous actors of the time made a pass from the series, among them the Greek Titos Vandis.

For the record, in 2013 a Turkish company bought the Pacific Princess for 2.5 million euros essentially to dismantle it and turn it into irons. The same thing happened with Island Princess.

I'll see you on the boat

This is a Greek comedy series that aired for two TV seasons, from 2000 to 2002, directed by Costas Kimoulis. The protagonists were: George Partsalakis, Tasos Chalkias, Bessie Malfa, Christina Theodoropoulou, Katia Nikolaidou with many guest stars.

The script was set in a luxury cruise ship that sailed between Greece and Italy, presenting the adventures of its staff. More specifically, the master and co-owner of the luxury cruise ship, although childhood friends, were completely different characters each. While the master was serious, stubborn and a little grumpy, the master appeared carefree, well-mannered and a woman with an unquenchable thirst for adventure. Things got complicated when the master had to resist the intense flirtation of the singer of the ship but also of its owner.
